Stephanie Kelly was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. From a young age, she had a love for the movies and longed to be up on the big screen. This passion grew into her pursuing an acting career when she auditioned and was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. After just having turned 19, Stephanie packed her bags and moved to the Big Apple where she trained at the Academy for two years.
Since graduating, Stephanie has landed multiple roles in short films, she starred as “Ivy” in the short film “Vervain” which was hand selected to be screened at BAM Film Festival in Brooklyn. Later this year she will be starring as “Laura” in her first feature film “Pod”.
In addition to having a career in front of the camera, Stephanie’s creativity has allowed her to explore different paths in the industry. She had the privilege to work on the film set of “Danger Close” as Producer’s Assistant. The film inspired by the untold Australian story about The Battle of Long Tan during the Vietnam War.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has had some amazing opportunities to learn from some of the most renowned acting coaches such as Phyllis Katz from The Groundlings in LA and Elizabeth Kemp who coached Bradly Cooper. They have taught her to always find the joy in what you are doing and to fail gloriously. She admires actors who are unapologetic about who they are on and off the screen such as Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson. What she loves most about acting is that she gets to play for a living.
